About Alternative Break Trips

One of the most popular service opportunities at Austin Peay: Alternative Break Trips! Students have the opportunity to spend their breaks volunteering in other communitites and having amazing experiences. Every trip has a theme, a student trip leader, and faculty/ staff member. Trips are very afforadable, never more than $100 and are all inclusive. Each trip includes an exploration day where volunteers explore the historical, natural, or cultural speciliaties in the area.

Diversity Scholarship Available

The Alternative Break Experience provides all students the opportunity to make a difference in communities across the country. While trip fees for students are under $100, we want to make sure that financial obligations are not a roadblock for students.  Students can apply for our Diversity scholarship and recieve 80% off the cost of the trip.

Eligibility requirements:

  • The Diversity Scholarship is open to ethnic minority and/or first-generation and/ or Adult and Non - Traditional Students.
  •  In order to receive the full scholarship amount, eligible applicants must be full-time students.
  •  Applicants must have no history of student code of conduct violations.
