Vice President's Excellence in Leadership Award

The Vice President's Excellence in Leadership Award recognizes a senior student who has excelled scholastically, has a distinguished record of involvement on campus, and has excelled in the area of student leadership on campus.

Selection Criteria

  • Nominee must be well recognized for outstanding leadership characteristics and involvement
  • Must have held a leadership position on campus and will have excelled in this position
  • Must be classified as a senior and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be enrolled full-time
  • Must be May, August or December 2014 graduate
  • May not have been recognized with this award previously
  • Must be in good standing academically and have no record of formal discipline with the University
  • Must set example for other student leaders
  • Nominee's resume must be attached or emailed to bryantt@apsu.edu
  • Nominee must attach a personal statement, written by the nominee, which describes the benefits of their leadership experience and the impact on their overall educational experience at APSU.  Nominee may email this written statement to bryantt@apsu.edu
  • Resume of nominee and statement of personal leadership experience must be attached or emailed to bryantt@apsu.edu
  • NOTE:  All components of nomination must be submitted BY THE DEADLINE for candidates to be considered for this award.

 

This is the top leadership award presented, so the nomination should be very specific.

  **Candidates for this award will be photographed and interviewed.

Attach or email resume of nominee detailing their qualifications to bryantt@apsu.edu, and be thorough in the responses of the following questions:

What leadership position has the nominee held on campus in which he/she excelled? In what way did the nominee excel in his/her leadership position?
How has the nominee demonstrated excellence in leadership and positively contributed to campus life at APSU?
What characteristics set this nominee apart from other senior leaders on campus?
Why is this nominee the best choice for the Vice President's Excellence in Leadership Award?
