Parent/Family & Association (APPA)
The Austin Peay Parent (Family) Association (APPA) is an organization established to engage and assist parents and families of APSU students. We understand the vital role of parents and families in the transition and success of their students. Our objective is that this partnership will enhance support of our students. The APPA has over 2,000 members and is housed in the office of Student Affairs. Joining the APPA is a great way to stay connected and informed!
The APPA provides communications to parents and family members of Austin Peay students. Communications are primarily through email and occasionally through mail. The APPA also offers opportunities for families to be engaged with campus.
There is no obligation to join, however we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to stay informed and aware of dates, deadlines, events and activities.
There is no cost to join the APPA! Members receive emails, occasional mailings, information sharing, and are provided opportunities to attend events and activities on campus and to volunteer. Members are under no obligation to participate in any events.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND FAMILIES
Parking: It is important that students review the parking map. Commuter parking is green, and there is overflow parking where any decal color may park. These overflow locations are dark gray/black on the map. Please remind students that parking in ADA parking without a blue decal will result in a state-enforced $200 parking fine. These fines may not be appealed. Residential parking is silver and is reserved for resident students only. Commuter students should plan to arrive early to secure parking and arrive to class on time.
Students can follow APSU Campus Police on Twitter at @APSUPolice for live parking updates.
Peay Pickup: APSU has a partnership with Clarksville Transit System (CTS) and new this fall we have two shuttles that complete routes about every 10 minutes around campus. This is a great service for students parking in outlying lots. The shuttles run from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday when classes are in session. Please click here for frequently asked questions and route information. Students may obtain their CTS Peay Pickup fob from Campus Police. Students must have the fob as well as the student ID to ride the shuttle free. Students can use the AP Mobile App to view the route, and see where the trolley is on its route. The app is available in the app store; just search Austin Peay State University. The shuttles do not stop at every building, but provide transportation from the outlying lots and Emerald Hills to the edge of the campus corridor.
