Hands-On, Minds On
How to engage your Science students with inquiry based lessons.
APSU in partnership with Dickson and Humphreys County School Systems is offering a Summer 2013 workshop for teachers of middle and high school science.
What exactly is scientific inquiry, and how can you integrate it into your classroom? Engage in inquiry as a learner to experience for yourself the benefits and challenges of this approach to science learning. Then explore age-appropriate strategies for doing inquiry with your middle and high school students. Incorporating CCSS for ELA and Math with inquiry based lessons is also a focus of this workshop. Leave with the confidence to bring these fun and effective scientific practices into your classroom, while supporting your district’s implementation of CCSS for ELA and Math.
Special Note: This is a three day workshop for Middle and High School Science teachers taking place on Wednesday June 19th, Thursday June 20th and Friday June 21st 8:30-3:30 daily, you must be able to attend all three sessions in order to participate.
