Cultural and Academic Enrichment

TRiO SSS students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural and academic enrichment activities both on and off campus.  Students who do participate in off-campus events must complete a student travel liability form

TRiO SSS-sponsored activities have included:

  • The Corvette Museum
  • Shakertown at South Union, KY
  • A Taste of Japan
  • American Museum of Science and Energy at Oak Ridge, TN
  • Secret City Scenic Excursion Train
  • STOMP at TPAC
  • The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis 
  • CATS at TPAC
  • The Quest for Immortality at The Frist Center
  • The Lion King at TPAC
  • Miss Marple's Dinner Theatre in Nashville, TN
  • Bye, Bye Birdie at The Roxy
  • The Bessie Smith Story at The Roxy

TRiO SSS students are provided information about upcoming events through monthly mailings.

For TRiO SSS students to participate in an off-campus event sponsored and funded by TRiO SSS, the student must come to EL 337 to sign up during the designated time period.  The student must have a completed student travel liability form on file for the current academic year and most events have limited seating. 


The mission of Austin Peay State University’s TRiO Student Support Services program is to provide academic services and a supportive environment in order to retain and graduate low-income, first generation and/or disabled college students.
