Graduate School Visitations

SSS students have the opportunity to visit graduate schools located geographically near APSU.  In the past, SSS students have visited graduate schools at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.  Students had the opportunity to tour the campus with a qualified campus guide, meet with a representative from the graduate school, enjoy the student flow and activities of the university center, and visit resource centers/museums unique to the individual campus.

For SSS students to participate in a graduate school visitation that is announced in a regular monthly mailing, the students must come to EL 337 to sign up during the designated time period and the student must have a completed student travel liability form on file for the current academic year.

In addition students are invited to make individual requests for a campus visitation to the Academic Counselor.  If there is adequate funding and an appropriate timeframe to arrange an individual campus visitation, the SSS staff will assist the student with the arrangements and provide transportation.

The mission of Austin Peay State University’s TRiO Student Support Services program is to provide academic services and a supportive environment in order to retain and graduate low-income, first generation and/or disabled college students.
