National TRIO Day 2002
Austin Peay State University, celebrating its 75th
anniversary, hosted an Open House to celebrate National
TRIO Day on February 21, 2002. Welcoming remarks were
provided by Dr. Joe Filippo, Assistant Vice President
for Academic Affairs, and a proclamation was given by
Mary Jo Dozier, Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of
Clarksville. APSU has five TRIO programs: EOC, VUB,
Tri-County UB, Clarksville Montgomery County UB, and SSS.
Ten TRIO Achievers were presented and each one expressed
deep appreciation for the support provided by these
programs at APSU. “Reaching New Heights” is the theme
for APSU’s special anniversary year and these achievers
truly expressed and demonstrated what this means to
them.
