Our Purpose:

1.  In cooperation with the student body, faculty, administration and staff of Austin Peay State University, to promote awareness and use of renewable energy resources in the community and region.

2.  To provide avenues for Austin Peay State University students and other interested citizens in the local community to participate in activities which will further an understanding of the social and environmental impact of various kinds of energy use, as well as develop hands-on skills to implement renewable energy solutions and practice conservation.

3. To provide an opportunity for SOARE members and other Austin Peay students to meet and work with other organizations with compatible goals in the region and to help students acquaint themselves with renewable energy technology options.

Membership is open to any interested student enrolled at Austin Peay State University, provided he or she is enrolled on the main campus. SOARE will not deny membership to any person on the basis of age, race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, disability or national origin. To remain in good standing as a SOARE member, a student must participate in one SOARE activity per semester.

SOARE is a multi-disciplinary organization and is not associated with any particular Academic Department.
