The School of Agriculture & Geosciences (SOAG) offers specialized programs within the fields of agriculture, geography, and geology.  Our curricula are interdisciplinary and require that students take courses in more than one of these three fields and in other sciences.  Our common agenda is educating students in the production or procurement of food, mineral, energy, and water resources for society while promoting policies and strategies for responsible stewardship of the environment.  Special topics within various programs include geo-technologies (GIS, GPS, remote sensing, precision agriculture), natural resources management (forestry, wildlife, hydrology), earth surface processes and history, regional studies, and agro-terrorism.  The Agriculture program operates the Environmental Education Center, 476 acres of land, half in natural cover and half for the production of farm commodities.  SOAG works closely with the APSU GIS Center and the Center of Excellence in Field Biology in environmentally-related research.
