Service Saturdays
Service Saturdays are an opportunity for APSU students to participate monthly in service opportunities within Clarksville and surrounding areas. The services sites are set up in advance and students will sign up to participate and lunch is provided. Students who participate in 10 hours of service in a semester will receive a S.E.R.V.E T- shirt!
Great Opportunity for Student Organizations and Classes!
Teacher’s Warehouse: The Teacher’s warehouse caters to the
teachers of the Clarksville-Montgomery school system. Teachers are able to come
in twice a semester to get free school supplies for their classrooms. The
Warehouse is run entirely by volunteers and is stocked by donations from local businesses
and people from the community. S.E.R.V.E has been a vital part in keeping the
teacher’s warehouse running with other teachers and administrators from the
school system. Together we help organize, stock, and run the “store.”
Manna Café: Manna Café Ministries is a non-profit religious
based organization whose main goal is to combat hunger in Clarksville and
Montgomery County. We help with any events they have throughout the year and
with their mobile food pantry and mobile café. The mobile café feeds the
homeless and hungry 3 to 4 times a week. They load a school bus filled with all
the things needed (tables, chairs, food, etc.) and they set up an outdoor café
and serve those in need.
Salvation Army Store: The Salvation Army in Clarksville has
both a shelter and a store. The store helps fund the shelter (which is located
on the same lot as the store). We volunteer at the store by helping organize
and shelve the items that are donated.
