These scholarships are awarded to students who have attended another educational institution and are transferring to APSU. You are eligible for these scholarships if you enrolling for your first semester at APSU.

General

John E. Mayfield Endowed Scholarship

This is a second scholarship created by Mr. John E. Mayfield. Interest on an endowed scholarship will fund an annual scholarship which will provide approximately $1,200 to a deserving student. Criteria for consideration: 2.5 minimum GPA, full-time or part-time, open to any major. Recipient must be from Cheatham County, non-traditional (adult learner) student with established financial need strongly considered

James Eric Lannom Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship, established in 1989 by a generous gift from the employees of the Clarksville Department of Electricity, is awarded annually in the amount of $1500. The recipient may be enrolled part-time, but must take a least nine credit hours per semester. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required to retain this scholarship. The award is based upon need and the recipient may study in any academic area. The recipient must be a non-traditional student who can demonstrate financial need. (An example would be a single parent who must give up his/her job to complete academic studies.) Dickson Renaissance Center

Mr. & Mrs. Richard C. Bibb Renaissance Center Scholarship

Amount: $500 per semester

Applicants should be enrolled in the APSU Bachelor of Business Administration, Management Concentration program at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee, however other majors will be considered. Preference will be given to residents of White Bluff, TN., and then to residents of Dickson County, TN> Applicants must be a full-time APSU student (12 or more hours) with at least six hours taken at the Dickson Renaissance Center. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is preferred. The scholarship may be renewed if the student maintains a GPA of 2.5 or greater and meets all other APSU requirements for full-time students and completes the APSU online scholarship application.

Employee/Member-Based

AASAF Scholarship

Amount: $250 book scholarship, contingent upon funding

With the rising text books and school supply costs, the African American Staff, Administrators and Faculty Association (AASAF) is dedicated to addressing this need by providing financial assistance to our future leaders who are studying and preparing for careers in various disciplines. Beginning Fall 2010, the AASAF Book and Supplies Scholarship Program will award scholarships to students, helping them gain the education they need to succeed while at Austin Peay State University. Each scholarship awarded will provide assistance for these students to purchases text books and school supplies at the APSU Bookstore. A minimum GPA of 2.5 and a recommendation letter from any AASAF member is required. Selection is made by the General Scholarship Committee. This academic scholarship of up to $1,000 annually is awarded to a child of a Beach Oil Company employee. Selection will be made by the University. A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required to retain the scholarship. With successful performance, the student may retain the scholarship for up to four years. If the employee is no longer employed by the company, the scholarship will be continued for the academic year. Burchett Construction Co. Scholarship

Odd Fellows Scholarship

Eligibility:    Thie scholarship is open to any major who is a relative or descendant of an Odd Fellows lodge member.

This endowment, provided by Tim and Linda Thomas will fund an academic scholarship for a child (biological or adopted) of an employee or retiree of Thomas Lumber Company with at least 10 years of service. Financial need is a consideration, and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for retention. Recipients may receive for up to four years. Trane Employees Scholarship

This scholarship will fund tuition costs for selected academic courses on a part-time basis up to $1,500 annually for active and retired Trane employees with ten years of service. Award may be made to a spouse or child but first priority will be given to active employees and then to retired employees. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for retention in this program. Selection will be by the University Scholarship Committee. Salaried employees must check with the Trane Education Aide Program before applying. Trane Family Members Scholarship

This scholarship will provide one $1,500 academic scholarship annually. Selection by the University Scholarship Committee will be based on academic potential. Priority order will be given to children of active Trane employees, to children of retired employees, active employees, then retired employees with at least ten years of service. For a new freshman, a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and a minimum ACT Composite score of 20 is required. A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required for retention while enrolled in at least 12 hours. If no qualified applicant is identified, award may be made to a spouse of an active or retired employee. May be awarded to recipient until successful undergraduate graduation, but not longer than five years. The recipient of this scholarship should be a student from the Potter Children’s Home if available.  If there are not candidates from the Potter Children’s Home, then an active member of a Church of Christ in Montgomery County, Tennessee will be selected.  For consideration the student must complete the APSU Online Scholarship Application, have financial need and submit an essay to APSU University Advancement Office, APSU Post Office Box, 4417, Clarksville, Tennessee 37044.  The essay should explain what the Potter Children’s Home or Church of Christ Scholarship would mean to him/her.

Female Student

Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship (Xi Beta Alpha Chapter) Scholarship

This scholarship, established in 1991 by the Xi Beta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, provides $250 per semester to a female, non-traditional, undergraduate student. Recipient must show academic promise and be enrolled either part-time or full-time. Financial need may be considered. Beta Sigma Phi (Laureate Eta Chapter) Scholarship

This scholarship provides a $700 annual scholarship to a female, non-traditional student, junior or senior status.  Reagan Scholarship

The Reagan Scholarship Program is designed to provide up to $1500 per year to several female students who attends Austin Peay State University.  The scholarship is designed to provide assistance to those female students who exhibits excellence in academics and community service.  The scholarship recipient would be expected to attend an annual Reagan Giving Circle award luncheon held each spring on the campus of APSU to receive her award.

Hispanic Cultural Center

Heidi Leming Hispanic Cultural Center Scholarship

Amount: $500 for the year

This scholarship was created in honor of Heidi Leming, former director of Student Life and Leadership. Heidi was instrumental in applying for a diversity access grant through the Tennessee Board of Regents and secured $13,000 to start a peer mentor program for Hispanic Students on campus as well as several other programs to bring greater awareness to Hispanic issues. The recipient will receive $500 for the year to go towards tuition and books. The recipient must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and is requested to participate in at least 3 events held by the Hispanic Cultural Center.

Candlelight Ball Scholarship

Amount: $1000 per year

This scholarship is open to entering freshmen and current APSU students. Recipient must be full-time and have minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipient will be required to work 10 hours on events. A one to two page essay on the importance of volunteerism and one letter of recommendation (preferably from a teacher or professor) are require. Jennifer Lynn Vick Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship, established in 1982 in memory of Jennifer Lynn Vick, daughter of APSU alumni Bob and Jearldene (Bogard) Vick, is administered by the APSU National Alumni Association. Funds for the scholarship are provided by contributions from friends and relatives of the Vick family. The recipient of this scholarship must be in need of financial assistance and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Students must complete a minimum of 12 hours per semester with a 5 hour a week work assignments at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.
