Scholarships
E. O. Bradley, Sr. Scholarships
Scholarships, established through trust fund, are
awarded annually to students who have completed
successfully the first year of nursing courses. The
scholarships will pay certain education fees for the

Melynda Collins Carrigan Memorial Nursing
Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1987 by Dr.
Vernon M. Carrigan in memory of his wife, Melynda,
and provides $500 annually to a nursing student in
the junior or senior year. Selection is based upon
financial need and scholastic ability. Selection is
made by the General Scholarship Committee based on
recommendations from the Nursing Department. For

Martha Caldwell Charlet Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to a student
interested in the field of nursing. It may be
continued for a second year. Conditions of the
scholarship require that the student must be
domiciled in Montgomery, Houston, Cheatham, Stewart,
Humphreys, or Robertson Counties of the State of
Tennessee, or Christian, Logan, Todd, or Trigg
Counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and that
the recipient accept a position at Clarksville
Memorial Hospital if one is available after

Mandy Cianos Memorial Scholarship
This endowed scholarship, established and awarded by
the Austin Peay Nursing Alumni Chapter, is awarded
annually to a junior or senior who has been accepted
into the APSU School of Nursing. For further

Gateway Hospital Nursing Scholarships
Gateway Hospital provides eight nursing scholarships
per year, four to junior nursing students and four
to senior nursing students. The scholarship award
will cover tuition and fees, and renewal is possible
for those awarded at the junior level. There are
certain requirements placed on this scholarship, and
an agreement must be signed by the recipient before
the monetary award can be made. For further

North Crest Medical Center Nursing Scholarships
North Crest Medical Center provides eight nursing

Sigma Theta Tau – Nu Phi Chapter Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a senior nursing student who
is a Sigma Theta Tau member. GPA is a consideration.

Skyline Medical Center Scholarship
This endowed scholarship, established and awarded by
Skyline Medical Center Auxiliary, will cover tuition
and fees, and renewal is possible for those awarded
at the junior level. There are certain requirements

Smith Memorial Nursing Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established in memory
of Captains Patrick and Rosemary Smith by the
Hilldale Civitan Club of Clarksville. Scholarships
are awarded annually to junior and/or senior nursing

Rose S. Vaughn and Bryan R. Vaughn Nursing
Scholarship
This endowed scholarship, established by the
family of Bryan Russell Vaughn, is awarded to a
qualified nursing student. This scholarship was
created in 1991 in memory of Bryan Russell Vaughn
and is being renamed in 2006 to include his beloved
wife, Rose S. Vaughn, on the occasion of her 80th
birthday.

Charles C. and Mary Lorraine Wilson Endowed Nursing
Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2005 by Mary
Lorraine Wilson. All awards will be made in honor of
oncology nurses and staff of the University Medical
Center - Cancer Care Center - in Lebanon, Tennessee
in appreciation for their care, dedication and
compassion. Awards may be used for tuition and
expenses.

The Alex P. Wootton, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This
scholarship was established in 1990 by Mr. and Mrs.
Mark S. Raby in recognition of Mrs. Raby's father's
dedication to the community and significant
involvement in public service. This is an endowed
scholarship to be awarded to a student in financial
need who participates in volunteer service with a
special interest toward enhancing the safety and
welfare of citizens (such as emergency medical
services, rescue squad, volunteer fire department,
etc.). The scholarship will be awarded in the amount
of $250 annually and may be renewed provided the
student maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The
recipient must have an Enhanced ACT score of 22 or
better. The scholarship is not restricted to any
