Programs Planned for 2009-2010 


Program Meetings: 1st Thursday of Month, 7:30 PM, Austin Peay State University, Sundquist Science Complex, Room D126 (except Nov. mtg)

PUBLIC IS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL PROGRAM MEETINGS

September 3 - Randall Johnson, "Integrated Resource Program: TVA's Environmental and Energy Future."  All members of the Clarksville community are invited to participate.  The future of energy affects us all.

 

October 1 - Dwayne Estes, "Cedar Glades and Xeric Barrens." Dr. Estes will discuss this unusual habitat with many unique species.  The Chapter is planning a field trip to a local glade and barrens on a Saturday in October.

 

November 5 - Scott Somershoe, TN State Ornithologist, Re: watchable wildlife web site and other news from TWRA.  Potluck at Hilldale United Methodist Church, Madison Street, in the small meeting room. Dinner at 6 PM Program at about 7:30 PM

 

 

December 3 - Charles Cook of C-Bees, "Beekeeping and Colony Callapse Disorder."  Visit the Montgomery County Beekeeping Association online at http://mcbaonline.ning.com.

 

January - no meeting

 

February 5 - Randy Hedgepath, "Wildflowers and Folklore (with an ornithological twist)."

 

March 4 - Joan Stevens, FWS, Tennessee Nat’l Wildlife Refuge and Cross Creeks

 

April 1 - Diann Nance, "Herbs that Attract Birds and Bees."

 

May 6 - Wally Brines, FWS, Hummingbirds.  Wally_Brines@fws.gov
