  • Unit Statement of Purpose

    The Office of Extended Educations works with all University departments to provide alternative educational opportunities and services to off-campus students, After Hours (evening) students on accelerated schedules and high school students enrolled in college for dual or concurrent credit.  

  • Unit Objectives for Fiscal Year 2002-03

    Objective 1.0 Continue to make presentations to civic organizations, business and industry managers and employees.    
    Objective 1.2 Work with Engineering Technology to develop an apprenticeship program with Robert Bosch Corporation.  
    Objective 1.3 Develop a projected plan for NEW degree program on campus, market and coordinate initiation of program kickoff Spring 2003.  
    Objective 1.4 Develop a "Summer Institute" for high school students to include 1)classes for college credit 2) classes to improve basic skills to better prepare them for college (math and English) and 3) classes to improve ACT scores.
     
    Objective 1.5 Grow the intensive English program (ESL)to 10 full-time students in addition to part-time students.  
    Objective 1.6 Continue to market off-campus programs in Clarksville and surrounding communities.  
    Objective 1.7 Promote dual/concurrent enrollment in Clarksville and surrounding communities.  
    Objective 2.0 Develop an evaluation instrument for use with off-campus students.  
    Objective 5.1 In cooperation with University Advancement, solicit scholarship funds for dual/concurrent high school students.  
    Objective 7.0 Improve reporting and tracking of dual and NEW students.

  • 2002-03 Annual Report Section

    Accreditation or Program review activities from 2002-03 academic year.
    Information has been provided as requested by the SACS Evaluation on-campus committee.
     
    New initiatives, activities or programs from the 2002-03 academic year.
    1) Assisted with advising RODP students due to illness and death of coordinator.  Also assisted interim coordinator with advising.

    2) Developed advisement forms for RODP degree programs.

    3) Served on the Chamber's Education Roundtable that grew out of Workforce 2020 involvement.

    4) Attended a couple of training/information meetings regarding THEC's reporting of WIA enrollments.

    5) In addition to soliciting scholarship monies for dual enrollment, meetings were held with school officials in Stewart, Cheatham, Houston and Montgomery counties to promote dual enrollment.  (See added objective 1.7)

    6) Participated in the Chamber Career Expo September 19 at the Pinnacle and May 8 at APSU's Armory and at Bell South's Employee Education Day.

    7) Met with representatives of Fort Campbell High School, school board, APSU admission and Fort Campbell Center to explore options for providing FCHS with vocational/technical classes.  (ongoing)

    8) Serving as APSU liaison for our partnership with the Center for Information Technology Education.  Have met with potential faculty and participated in presentations to the Chamber Workforce Development Task Force, Chamber Board and the Society for Human Resource Managers.

    9) Serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) for SEVIS for processing I-20s for ESL students.
