- Unit Statement of Purpose
The EOC provides information regarding opportunities for postsecondary enrollment to lower-income adults. The center assist participants in making informed choices among Technology schools, colleges and universities as well as assisting in applying for Pell grants and other forms of financial assistance. Other activities provided are career and academic counseling, tutoring and assisting participants with using FAFSA on the Web. |
- Unit Objectives for Fiscal Year 2002-03

To disseminate educational and financial aid information to a minimum of 6,000 potential participants who are residents of the target area. |
| Objective 2.0

To provide EOC services to a minimum of 1,500 adults who are residents of the target area, 70% of whom will met both the economic anf first generation requirement. |

To provide at least 95% of enrolled participants with information on available financial and academic assistance. |

To provide 50% of eligible participants with career planning information. |

Accreditation or Program review activities from 2002-03 academic year.

New initiatives, activities or programs from the 2002-03 academic year. The 2002-2003 year has been very eventful for the EOC. We have been involved in the following activities: 1 The Hispanic opportunties for progress in Education community group, we are their educational componet. 2 The Educational Opportunity Center EXPO at Governor's Square Mall. The event was very successful with 400 people attending. 3 TRIO Day on campus to allow the campus community and surrounding know more about the TRIO programs on APSU's campus. 4 Education Week at Fort Campbell. We set up a information table at the Educ center to provide information about schools and courses in the area. 5 Financial Aid workshops at the Clarksville Public Library and Educ Center at Fort Campbell. 6 Increased the activity in the Dover outreach target area by 50% over last year. 7 Judy Springer received the thrid quarter employee award. 8 Received a five year grant and 100 point score on the grant for the EOC. This is the first year of the new grant cycle. 9 Started the Spouse Seminar at Fort Campbell to let military spouses know about the educational opportunties in the area. 10 Articles in the Fort Campbell Corier and Leaf Chronicle. 11 Marissa produced a study on the Self Directed Search Inventory to determine if it is effective for our program. The results show it is effective for the population we work with.

We provide presentations to community groups in the target area to inform them about the educational opportunties in the area, state and country. The groups range from 5 to 100 people. In addition, the Educational EXPO show cases institutions in the surrounding and state area. The presentations are for financial aid, PSE institutions, and careers. The number to the right is what has currently been provided at this point in time by the program. |
