Accreditation or Program review activities from 2002-03 academic year.

New initiatives, activities or programs from the 2002-03 academic year.
The medical technology program received a $64,000 workforce development grant from the Tennessee Hospital Association.  The purpose of this grant was to help increase student enrollment in the medical technology program thus increase graduates that would enter the workforce. The plans to meet this purpose was to increase marketing of the program through effective newspaper media, increased participation in career fair events and increase public awareness of the profession. Monies from this grant were provided to hire an additional faculty member in the program to assist with increased teaching loads. This would be initiated for the 2003-2004 academic year. In addition funds were provided to develop marketing brochures, and help promote recruitment efforts as well as provide for some needed equipment.  In addition program faculty worked to develop a consortium group with various hospital clinical affiliates to help increase the number of clinical sites for training of students.
