Spring 2006 contest :
The Austin Peay State University Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society will be hosting a research forum for high school students. The event will occur in the Sundquist Building on April 22 from 9:30 AM - 1 PM. (Registration 9:30-10, opening session at 9:50, talks begin promptly at 10:00)
Awards will be given for the best oral presentations. Cash awards will be given as well as a $250 scholarship to the top paper. All areas of science, math and engineering research are included with six entries allowed per school. Each participating school should submit the abstracts of their participants (with name of student, name of sponsoring teacher, title of project, and school) to:

Abstracts should be a maximum of 200 words. Please include the school address and telephone number for confirmation. Examples of college research abstracts can be found here.
Oral presentations will be limited to 12 minutes with 3 minutes for questions. A slide projector and overhead multimedia system will be supplied. Presentations will be judged by a panel of APSU faculty and/or students. This is not a poster or "science fair" contest but is a presentation contest similar to the statewide TN Junior Academy of Science competition. This is a valuable opportunity to work on your communication skills and to share your knowledge with others. Come and join us!
