Taxonomy:
Of the four subspecies of
Thamnophis proximus listed by
Crother et al. (2008), only T. p.
proximus (Orange-striped Ribbonsnake) ranges into Tennessee.
Distribution:
Records of this species in
Tennessee are limited to four counties in the extreme western part of the state.
