Certain registration restrictions require permits in order to be permitted in to a course. Permits are at the discretion of the department chair, and permission must be sought from the academic program in which the course(s) reside. For example, a permit for an English course would require approval from the department chair in Languages and Literature. Below are the registration restrictions that require permits from the academic department chair.
Pre-Requisite Error – This error indicates you have not taken or successfully completed the courses required to complete prior to taking the course.
Co-Requisite Error – This error indicates a co-requisite is required with the course you are attempting to register. If you have completed the co-requisite course required, you would have to request a permit in order to register for the remaining course.
Capacity Error – The course has reached the course capacity set by the department. You must speak to the department chair to request, if there are additional seats in the classroom, a permit.
