Top Out Bouldering Competition
2nd Annual Event
Saturday, November 21, 2009
University Recreation is proud to host the second annual
competition. The competition is open to all current APSU students, faculty,
staff, spouses, affiliates and community members. Participants must sign all
paperwork before competing.
Bouldering is a type of climbing where without a rope and normally
limited to very short climbs 10 to 12 feet in high so that a fall will not
result in serious injury. These climbs emphasize power, strength, and
balance. It focus is on individual moves or a short sequences of difficult
moves, unlike the more traditional roped climbing, which deals with more
endurance over with a series of easier individual moves.
