Yoga:
Ananda Yoga,
developed by Swami Krivananda who is a direct disciple of
Paramhansa Yogananda, is a classical style of hatha yoga
that uses asana and pranayama to awaken, experience and
begin to control the subtle energies within oneself. Its
object is to use those energies to harmonize body, mind and
emotions, and, above all, to attune oneself with higher
levels of awareness. Ananda Yoga is a relatively gentle,
inward experience, not an athletic or aerobic practice. The class
length is 30 minutes and meets in one of the fitness studios
on the Foy Center. Wear comfortable clothing and check out a
yoga mat at the Foy Center equipment desk. |
