  Intro 2: Strength
  Strength and resistance training are exercise methods that challenge the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems to work beyond your normal exertion. Gradual progression in the level of difficulty yields health and performance benefits over time. A variety of tools may be used to create a workout including body weight, resistance bands, dumbbells and machines.
 

Benefits of Strength& Resistance Training

  • decreases fatigue in daily activities

  • reduces body fat

  • improves heart disease risk factors

  • better stress management

  • decreased risk of osteoporosis

  • modest improvement in cardio-respiratory fitness

Training Recommendations
Frequency 2-3 days
Intensity 8-12 repetitions per set
Time 1-2 sets of each exercise
Type full body circuit of 8-10 exercises for all major muscle groups
