Intro 2: Cardio Cardio-respiratory
exercises are activities that challenge the cardiovascular and
respiratory systems to improve their ability to provide oxygen
to the working muscles. Gradual progression in the level of
difficulty yields health and performance benefits over time. Any
activity that increases heart and breathing rates through
rhythmic and repetitive movement of large muscle groups will
yield cardio-respiratory benefits. Examples include swimming,
jogging, walking, cycling, and cross country skiing.
