Adventure
Recreation University
Recreation's Adventure Recreation trips/outings are cooperative
adventures aimed to empower people. The following is known as
the Adventure Recreation participant philosophy: each participant is expected to act
as an equal member of the group, regardless of skill level or
prior experience. For this reason, it is extremely important
that each person participate on trips suited to their skill
level. Each participant must be capable of accurately and
honestly assessing their skill level and openly communicating
with the group. No person should ever participate in an activity
in which they are not skilled or equipped to handle alone if
necessary. University Recreation wants
people to develop their own skills and self-reliance, to
communicate and work as a group. This is much more rewarding
than simply following a leader. Therefore please be honest in
assessing your suitability for each trip.

more information about local outdoor pursuits and regional
activities.
Trip prices are
per person and include transportation for APSU affiliates,
in-camp food, group equipment, and fees. Pre-trip
meetings are held in Foy 202 at 5 p.m. unless otherwise
indicated. Some personal gear may be
