Task 1: Planning Instruction and Assessment

In Task 1, the teacher candidate should provide evidence of the following:

  • Plans build on prior learning with clear connections to concepts
  • Planned supports are tied to learning objectives, considering individual students' needs and will correct any preconceptions
  • Justification of why learning tasks are appropriate, to include references to research and/or theory
  • Vocabulary and symbol support
  • Multiple ways to assess student mastery of the learning objectives
