The Department of Sociology at Oklahoma State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2007. A Ph.D. in Sociology is required. The department seeks a scholar with demonstrated potential for high productivity. The successful candidate must have expertise in Quantitative Methods. Preferred substantive areas include one or more of the following: Social Psychology, Social Inequality, or Criminology. level, beginning Fall 2007. The preferred candidate should possess a Ph.D.

has a recognized program in environmental sociology and the successful

area. The area within environmental sociology is open, but preference may be

approval, -- for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position (JRN
012505) to begin August 21, 2007, at which time the Ph.D. is required. We are interested in a scholar who takes a social justice or critical
approach to criminology in research and teaching with an emphasis on
minority communities.* Applicants must be prepared to teach criminology and
corrections at the B.A. and M.A. levels, and one or more of the following: victimology, law & society, delinquency. In addition, ability to teach Race
