The Radiologic Technology
Program Radiologic technology is more than
X-rays and ultrasounds. It’s an obligation to physicians who
depend on radiographic images to diagnose diseases and injuries.
It’s a commitment to patients who deserve compassionate care.
And if you are ready to become part of a field that saves lives
every day, Austin Peay State University’s programs in
radiography, nuclear medicine technology and diagnostic medical sonography will set you on the path to success.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Radiologic Science Program is to provide
training in the field of imaging science. The goal of the
program will be to fulfill the needs of healthcare providers in
the community and surrounding regions. Serving people by
being a provider requires critical thinking and technical skills
to offer the best possible care. To prepare the students
to meet these requirements, they are provided with various
levels of training. This training includes theory,
clinical practice, didactic learning, laboratory testing, and
competency testing in the clinical setting. Upon
successful completion of the program, graduating students will
be prepared to meet the requirements for an entry-level position
in radiology.
