What will I learn?

Students will learn proper patient care techniques in RLTN 3010.  In RLTN 3030 and RLTN 3140 students will learn to properly position patients in order to produce diagnostic images for the doctor to make a diagnosis.

What do students do after graduation?

Radiography graduates work in hospitals, imaging centers, urgent/family care clinics, and doctor's offices.  They perform duties as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Cardiovascular Intervention Technologists (CVIT), Mammographers and general diagnostic Imaging Technologists.

Sample Course Work

Students will complete core courses and program courses such as, Medical Terminology, Introduction to Radiologic Technology, numerous Clinical Courses, Patient Care, Radiographic Procedures, Radiographic Image Analysis, Radiobiology and Radiation Protection courses.

Through courses taught on the main campus and clinical experiences in area radiography departments, Austin Peay State University’s radiography program prepares students to gather diagnostic images through procedures such as MRI, mammography and vascular imaging. Whether you are interested in working with patients or pursuing a career as a specialist or salesperson within the industry, APSU’s program will provide you with the knowledge, skills and abilities employers are seeking.
