Publicizing Your Event

The Office of Public Relations and Marketing encourages organizations to appoint a person or a committee to serve as a public relations point of contact to announce events, efforts and other newsworthy items. This person or committee can submit news – brief write-ups or press releases – to those news sources deemed most likely to take interest in the organization.

A few examples of ways to publicize events/efforts include the following:

  • Click on the “Share Your News” tab across the top at Options to “submit an event” or “submit an article” will appear.
  • Click on the “Submit News” tab at Options to “send news,” “submit your event” and “send good news” will appear.
  • Submit news and events to The All State at or call (931) 221-7376.
  • Post it to our main University Facebook page: We have considerable traffic to this page, so it should get a number of views.
