Degree Offerings
  • The political science program at Austin Peay offers a major and two minors, including a minor in International Relations. The major (B.A. or B.S. degree) requires the completion of 33 semester hours (Suggested Program of Study) which include:

    • Requirements:
      • American National Government (2010)
      • Introduction to Public Policy (2040)
      • International Politics (2070)

    • Electives:
      • 6 upper-level courses from a selection that includes courses in foreign policy, comparative politics, American politics and public law.

  • Law courses are offered for those students particularly interested in law school or careers as a paralegal.  These courses may be taken individually as part of the major or as a group in our legal studies concentration (Suggested Program of Study) within the political science major for a total of 51 hours.  Completing the entire legal studies concentration eliminates the need for a minor in another department.  Students who have already completed an Associates degree in paralegal studies can transfer those hours for full credit toward the concentration.
