Policy Statement


It is the policy of Austin Peay State University to provide a safe environment for all students, employees, visitors, and guests by regulating the use of skateboards, rollerblades, in-line skates, and other similar devices on university property for transportation, not recreation.


Purpose


The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for rollerblading/skateboarding on campus.


Procedures


All individuals operating rollerblades/skateboards and other coasting devices on campus shall ride their device in a controlled manner and shall exercise due care and reasonable caution to prevent injury to others, to self, or to property. These individuals will also yield the right-of-way to all pedestrian vehicle traffic.

Individuals are prohibited from using these devices inside of University buildings and are prohibited from engaging in trick (sliding, grinding, ramp buildings, jumps, etc.) anywhere on campus.

Individuals who use the equipment recklessly or without care of others and University property may be subject to disciplinary action.
