Distributive Physics Major (71 hours)

Physics core courses:

  • Phys 2110/2111, 2120/2121 University Physics with Lab (10 hours)
  • Phys 3005 Theoretical Methods for Scientists and Engineers (4 hours)
  • Phys 3010 Intermediate Mechanics (3 hours)
  • Phys 3030 Electricity and Magnetism (3 hours)
  • Phys 3550 Experimental Methods for Scientists and Engineers (3 hours)
  • Phys 3700/3701 Modern Physics with Lab (4 hours)
  • Phys 4000 Computational Methods for Scientists and Engineers (3 hours)

Distributive Major courses:

  • Phys 3100/3101 Optics with Lab (4 hours) OR Phys 3800 Quantum Mechanics (3 hours)
  • 18 hours of upper-division credit selected with approval of the chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy from Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, the School of Business, or upper-division engineering transfer credits from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Math and Computer Science core courses:

  • Math 1910, 1929 Calculus and Analytic Geometry (10 hours)
