Graduate School Workshop
An academic service sponsored by: The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 191
The Graduate School Workshop is designed to provide information to Juniors, Seniors, and other interested individuals about the graduate school process with the personal knowledge and expertise from faculty and other professional and support staff members.
3:30-3:45 UC 307 — Linda Thompson, current Chapter 191 President made welcoming remarks. She was followed by David Snyder who spoke about “Why go to graduate school?” Jeanie Randall gave information about the annual national PKP graduate fellowship competition. 3:45-5:00 Breakout discussions were in Ballroom A and 307. Five discussion areas were set up:
Jim Thompson remained in room 307 to talk about helpful internet links for interested students.
A number of materials and were placed at appropriate tables for student use.
Shelley Webb, Career Services, provided a case of Graduate School Guides to be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lori Buchanan listed the resources available at the Woodward Library in a handout for students.
Jenny Preston-Sabin obtained free copies of the publication “How to Afford Graduate School.”
