Student Organizations

Student organizations at Austin Peay State University include social sororities and fraternities, professional and honor societies, departmental clubs, and various religious organizations. Additionally, nursing students have opportunities to participate in several discipline specific organizations.

  • The Austin Peay Student Nurses' Association¬† (SNA) of the Tennessee Association of Student Nurses is a nonprofit organization to aid in the development of the individual student of nursing as a future health professional, to be aware of and contribute to improving the health of all people. A faculty member from the School of Nursing is selected each year to act as advisor and faculty representative ¬† (National Student Nurses' Association)

Student members of the APSNA are introduced to the professional role of political activism in nursing. Members of the APSNA shall be enrolled in the Austin Peay State University School of Nursing. Honorary members shall consist of all students enrolled in APSU who are pre-nursing majors. Membership in the APSNA is optional but highly recommended as an integral portion of the preparation of the professional nurse. Information on membership can be obtained in the office of the School of Nursing or from the faculty a advisor.
