Information for returning BSN students 

School starts Monday August 25, 2014. Summer will be over too soon! Here are some items you will need to take care of before your first day of class.

Returning Students' Skills Fair

Adult I and Adult II at Gateway Medical Center

Adult I and II will be attending clinical at Gateway Medical Center. Follow the directions below to get a jump on the site requirements. 

There are 5 documents that need to be signed for Gateway Medical Center. All of Adult I and Adult II are required to complete these. You may download or print. You may email the completed forms at son@apsu.edu or drop them off at the SON. If you choose to do neither, be aware your computer access at Gateway may be delayed.

ATI Information

ATI will no longer be purchased at the APSU bookstore. This fall students will pay for ATI at the cashier’s window. If you are in the Fundamental, Psych/Mental Health, or Adult I cohorts you pay $290.80. If you are in Maternal Child/Community Health or Adult II you pay $190.60.

Drug Screens

All students who are in the Adult I fall cohort are required to have a drug screen. Any student whose drug screen is one year or older is required to have a new screen. These are obtained at Workforce Essentials. You do not need to provide a copy to the SON. Go to WorkForce Essentials NEW location located at the corner of Madison Street and University Avenue.  The address is 523 Madison St., Suite A, Clarksville, TN 37040. Remember, state you are an APSU nursing student. You must have a picture ID with you. The link provides directions to the Center. WorkForce_New_Directions.pdf

Tuberculosis Screenings  

Every returning student must have a one-step TB screen. If you have tested positive in the past, information for you can be found here Positive TB Form

Personal Health Insurance

If needed update your personal health insurance. 

Student Nursing Liability Insurance

Pay for student nursing liability insurance at the cashier's window. This policy is active August to August. If you began school during a spring semester you are required to purchase the liability insurance that fall as well.

CPR 

Check the expiration date on your CPR certification. If yours has expired or will expire during the semester you need to be recertified. Information is here July CPR Classes

Flu Vaccine

Please do not get your flu vaccine too early. You are required to have the shot starting mid-September through October 15th. Everyone must have a flu shot in the fall. They are due October 15th.  

All updates to student records will be uploaded to D2L. This will be done using the clinical D2L cohort class shell. Dates for submission are August 25th-28th.
