Tri-County Upward Bound recognized students for leadership, academics

Students participating in the Tri-County Upward Bound program, housed at Austin Peay State University, were recognized for outstanding academic achievement, leadership and cooperation at a recent Awards Banquet. Tri-County Upward Bound involves selected high school students from Cheatham, Houston, and Stewart counties.
Amber Peace of Central Cheatham County High School and Dane Collett of Houston County High School were voted Miss and Mr. Upward Bound in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement, leadership roles and positive attitude throughout their simulated college experience. Sheree Jolley and Jessica Snyder of Stewart County High School tied for the Top Academic Achiever award.
The summer session sponsored by Tri-County Upward Bound is a residential camp that introduces students to college life while encouraging college aspirations and academic achievement. Students live in dorms, attend college classes and participate in social and cultural events.
Each of the four awardees received a certificate of recognition and a Governor's Square Mall gift certificate Governors Square Mall.
