Dubbed the “Moo-vers and Shakers,” local members of the APSU National Alumni Association have beefed up this year's annual alumni get-together with a barnyard theme and buckets of barbecue. The celebration—the group's 10th—kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Ajax Distributing Company Pavilion, 330 Warfield Blvd.

A barbecue cooking contest will pit five teams against each other for a cash prize, the Scarlet Sow Award and bragging rights — while providing the main course for the meal. The barbecue will be accompanied by “all the fixins,” including beverages and Tennessee's classic dessert: Goo Goo Clusters.

“Round Up” attendees also will dance the night away to music by local band Mike Robinson.

“‘Round Up' is the greatest event — it has the best fun, food and friends. And you get to support Austin Peay,” said Nancy Ladd, co-president of the APSUNAA-Montgomery County Chapter and committee co-chair.

Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased in advance. They will be sold by the Moo-vers and Shakers through Friday, Oct. 4, and at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill, 751 North Second St., through Wednesday, Oct. 9.

All proceeds benefit the Austin Peay National Alumni Association.
