Red Grammer to give free concert
October 15, 2001
Red Grammer, the popular children's recording artist and songwriter, will perform at Austin Peay State University at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 in the concert theatre of the music/mass communication building.
Grammer is one of the most sought-after children's performers in the nation. With numerous appearances on television and radio, he also has starred in his own concert special for the Disney Channel, appeared on Nickelodeon, the NBC Today Show, Fox Kids' Club, Showtime and PBS. In a nationally televised segment recognizing the phenomenal success of his sixth album HELLO WORLD!, CBS This Morning named Grammer "the superstar to the young and a hit with parents too!"
Grammer and his wife, co-lyricist Kathy Grammer, write music with the family in mind. The ideas and themes that permeate the Grammers' music arise from their belief that childhood is an essential state of humanness, requiring strong love, committed care givers, gentle yet focused guidance and time to nurture and grow. They recognize and respect the power of music to influence young hearts and minds. They believe they are in partnership with the parents in their audience. The Grammers work to show how adults can make significant changes in the lives of the nation's children and in our society.
Tickets will be available at the Music Ticket Office Oct. 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at 9 a.m. Oct. 27.
