Dr. Aleeta Christian and Dr. Floyd Christian traveled to Koshigaya, Japan, northwest of Tokyo, and gave classroom presentations at Koshigaya Junior High School. At the request of teacher Itsumi Morita, the Christians helped prepare for the students' yearly field trips involving English assignments. Floyd Christian and his son, Daniel, also gave a concert (recorder, voice, piano) for the teachers and students at Matsubushi High School, Matsubushi City. Introductions and lyrics were in Japanese and English.
Dr. Jerry Plummer, assistant professor in the College of Business, was quoted in an article that appeared in the Sept. 20 edition of "The Leaf Chronicle." The article addressed the problem of spam and the likelihood of FTC intervention to regulate spam mailings.
Dr. Tim Winters, associate professor, languages and literature, spent June 2002 in Greece, where he served as a senior associate member of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. He also continued his research into a 5th century B.C. inscription.
Dr. Malcolm Muir, professor of history and philosophy, gave a presentation on “Germany's Zeppelins War Against Britain” at the Western Front Association meeting in Kansas City, Mo. September 15. The previous edition of “InnerAction” mistakenly attributed that presentation to Dr. Dewey Browder. We regret the error and are happy to publish a correction.
