7/5/2011

Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education is partnering with Boston Reed College to offer a new Pharmacy Technician Certificate program to prepare students for entry-level positions in the field.

Classes will run for 11 weeks on the APSU campus and will include instruction and lab time to ready students to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam (PTCB).

Forbes Magazine rates pharmacy as one of the best industries for women in the coming years due to its flexibility, global demand, room for growth and excellent pay.

Classes will meet from 6–9 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays from Aug. 15-Oct. 26. Course fee is $1,099, which includes textbooks, all classroom materials and certificate of completion for each student.

A free informational meeting will be held from 6–7:30 p.m., July 20 for interested students to learn more about the course, the program, financial aid and requirements.
