Homecoming, 'Fortnite' and Halloween take over campus this week

It’s Homecoming Week! Here are some of the things happening this week on campus.

HOMECOMING

Homecoming Week culminates at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, when the Govs host Tennessee Tech at Fortera Stadium. Read about the game here.

But there’s a bunch going on this week leading up to (and after) the game. Here are some events:

‘FORTNITE’ ANIMATOR ON CAMPUS

Kaye Vassel is lead technical animator of "Fortnite."
Kaye Vassey will be at APSU on Tuesday. 

‘Fortnite’ lead technical animator Kaye Vassey will give a public lecture about her work and artistic practice at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Room 120 of the Art + Design Building. The event is free and open to everyone. Read more here.

HALLOWEEN PERCUSSION CONCERT

The 34th Annual Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert will have two performances, at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall in the Music/Mass Communication Building. Admission is two cans of food or $5. Read more here.

G.H.O.S.T. TAKES OVER FORTERA

G.H.O.S.T., or Greater Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating, is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Fortera Stadium. APSU clubs and organizations dress up, hand out candy and play games with children from the area. Read more here.

BREDESEN TO VISIT CAMPUS

Former Tennessee governor and current U.S. Senate candidate Phil Bredesen will visit Austin Peay from 3-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, in MUC 305, for a Meet and Greet sponsored by College Democrats.
