Music faculty member to hold recital

An Austin Peay State University assistant professor of music will perform at a faculty recital sponsored by the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.
Douglas Droste will perform solo and ensemble works for violin at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, in the concert hall of the music/mass communication building.
The recital will include a duet for guitar and violin by Niccolo Paganini, Johann Sebastian Bach's “Partita in D Minor” for solo violin and Jascha Heifetz' transcription of George Gershwin's “Three Preludes.” Additional musicians include Stanley Yates, guitar, and Patricia Halbeck, piano.
Droste, who joined Austin Peay's music department in 2000, has performed with several professional orchestras including the Nashville Symphony. He holds degrees from Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, and Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.
