Mixed media and found objects create sense of playfulness in visiting lecturer's work

Sculptor Greely Myatt will present a slide lecture about his work at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, Trahern 401. Myatt is a professor of art at the University of Memphis and has taught at Itawamba Community College, Fulton, Miss., and Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Ark. He has received numerous awards for his work including the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award — Visual Art, 1994 and two Tennessee Arts Commission awards: Individual Artist Fellowship, 1992 and Tennessee/Israel Artists Exchange Fellowship, 1998.
Myatt's work is noted for his use of mixed media and found objects and for the sense of playfulness he imparts to his sculptures. For further information, telephone 7333.
