May 13, 2002

Dr. Don Luck, associate professor of education, has agreed to act as the interim dean of the new College of Professional Programs and Social Sciences beginning June. 1. Dr. Carl Stedman, professor emeritus, education, has agreed to act as the director of the new School of Education for one year. A national search will be conducted in fall to fill both positions permanently, if budget allows, according to Dr. Bruce Speck, vice president of academic affairs. Dr. David Denton has agreed to serve as chair of the psychology department. He will begin his tenure this fall. "Dr. Hoppe has accepted my recommendations and will submit their names to the chancellor," said Speck. "All three positions require approval by the chancellor and will not be official until he endorses the president's recommendations."
