Austin Peay State University's National Alumni Association is sponsoring the 23rd Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament and the annual Homecoming 5K run.

Bring your friends and enjoy a relaxing game of golf at the Eastland Green Golf Course on Sango Road. Compete for a chance to win $5,000 in the hole-in-one contest on hole number five.

The tournament begins at 8 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2. There is no registration deadline, but the tournament is limited to the first 120 players.

Sponsored by Ajax Distributing and Miller Brewing Company, the cost is $55 per person, which includes a light lunch.

If you prefer, start the day with a morning run. Last year, more than 100 people participated in the 5K run, which has become one of the most popular Homecoming events.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3 under the tent in front of the McCord Building. The race starts at 8 a.m. on College Street in front of APSU and follows a path through the APSU campus and downtown Clarksville.

Sponsored by APSUNAA, Union Planters Bank and the New York Bagel Café, the cost is $12 in advance and $15 the day of the race and includes a T-shirt and continental breakfast.

A $50 cash award will be given to the overall male and female winners and masters male and female winners.

The first place male and female winners in age groups 20-24 and older will be awarded $25, second place will receive $15 and third place will be given $10. Local banks have donated savings bonds to award to winners ages 19 and younger.

"These are fun events. We hope people come to support APSU," said Shelia Boone, director of alumni and annual giving.
