Five employees have new assignments

Blanche Wilson, director of the Child Learning Center from 1989-2002, has been appointed director of the new Office of Student Life and Leadership. In addition to overseeing student groups such as service, departmental and international clubs, she will manage extracurricular and multicultural programming.
Lynne Yarbrough, who was the building activities attendant from 1994-2002, is now the coordinator of Greek affairs and special events in the Student Life and Leadership Office. Duties of the new position, which fell to the assistant director of student life, include advising members of Greek letter organizations and planning special University events such as Welcome Week and Homecoming.
Andy Kean is the new director of the Morgan University Center, after spending 13 years as director of student life. He is responsible for the operation and marketing of the UC, campus facilities reservations and managing the Govs Card program.
Rose Austin, who last worked at APSU as the administrative secretary to the dean of the
then-College of Arts and Sciences from 1993-1998, has been hired as an accounts payable manager. In addition to ensuring the timely payment of all vendor invoices and expense vouchers, she is responsible for maintaining accounting standards in the accounts payable area and supervising five account clerks.
Marilyn Griffy, secretary for the Center of Excellence for Field Biology for 20 years, is now a technical clerk in the purchasing department. Her new functions include processing all purchase orders, copier and meter readings and database for fixed assets.
