First University Symphony Orchestra of the academic year scheduled for this Sunday

Douglas Droste, assistant professor of music, will conduct the University Symphony Orchestra in its first performance of the year at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13 in the concert hall of the music/mass communication building.
The concert will include Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man," Joan Tower's "Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman No. 1" and Zoltan Kodaly's "Hary Janos Suite." Joaquin Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez" will feature Dr. Stanley Yates, associate professor of music, on guitar.
Ann Silverberg, associate professor of music, will preface the concert with a lecture on Tower's life and music at 3:30 p.m., in room 130 of the music/mass communication building.
The Austin Peay State University Symphony Orchestra performs twice a semester, including an opera/musical theatre production.
