Faculty promoted

This summer, the Tennessee Board of Regents approved the promotion and tenure of several Austin Peay State University faculty.

Faculty members who were awarded promotions are Dr. Najmul Abedin, associate professor of public management; Dr. Willodean Burton, professor of biological sciences; Dr. Luannette Butler, associate professor of psychology; Dr. Wallace Cross, professor of history; Dr. Don Dailey, professor of biological sciences; Dr. Jill Franks, associate professor of languages and literature; Dr. Fredrick Grieve, associate professor of psychology; Dr. Patricia Halbeck, professor of music; Patrick Perdew, associate professor of mathematics in the Developmental Studies Program; Dr. William Rayburn, associate professor of math and computer science; William Renkl, professor of art; Dr. Robert Robison, professor of biological sciences; Dr. Miguel Ruiz-Aviles, associate professor of languages and literature; Dr. Joe Schiller, associate professor of biological sciences; Philenese Slaughter, assistant professor of acquisitions and periodicals; Dr. Karen Sorenson, associate professor of languages and literature; Dr. Gregg Steinberg, associate professor of health and human services; Dr. James Vandergriff, associate professor of math and computer science; Dr. Timothy Winters, associate professor of languages and literature; and Dr. Nanci Wood, professor of psychology.

Newly tenured faculty members are Gerald Beavers, executive director of the Austin Peay Center @ Fort Campbell; Scott Boyd, associate professor of communication and theatre; Doris Davenport, associate professor of nursing; Dr. Jack Deibert; Dr. Jill Franks; Joyce Hargrove, assistant professor of social work; Patrick Perdew; Dr. James Prescott, assistant professor of public management; Dr. Ruiz-Aviles; Schiller; Dr. Jaime Taylor, associate professor of physics; Glenda Thompson, assistant professor of nursing; and Faye Zeigler, associate professor of nursing.
