Faculty members to perform in showcase concert

The Clarksville community can sample the diverse talents of Austin Peay's nationally acclaimed performance faculty in a special evening event.
Faculty members of the department of music will perform a showcase concert at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8 in the concert theatre of the music/mass communication building.
Classical and jazz selections by Boccherini, Bolcom, Gershwin, Gliere, Kraft, Mintzer, Rodgers, Schocker, Schumann and Sinigaglia will be performed on flute, guitar, horn, percussion, piano, saxophone, strings, trumpet and voice.
“Members of the APSU music faculty have achieved national and international recognition as performers and recording artists,” said Dr. Allen Henderson, chair and professor of music. “They pursue performance careers in addition to their teaching and performing activities at APSU.”
Henderson will perform in the showcase, along with fellow faculty members Matt Davich, Douglas Droste, Anne Glass, Dr. Patricia Halbeck, Carris Jackson, Dr. Thomas King, Dr. George Mabry, Dr. Sharon Mabry, Francis Massinon, Valerie Oyen-Larsen, Keith Nicholas, Richard Steffen, David Steinquest, Dr. Lisa Vanarsdel, Patsy Wade, Dr. Stanley Yates and distinguished visiting professor Dr. Darryl Taylor.
The Music Ticket Office will be open for ticket purchases from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, and one hour before the concert. Full-time APSU students will be admitted free of charge with presentation of a current student ID. Ticket prices are $10 per person.
