Beth Liggett is a photographer for Austin Peay State University, as well as a photojournalist and an editorial and lifestyle photographer based in Clarksville. On Nov. 19, a new exhibit of her work, titled “Duotone,” will open at APSU in the Morgan University Center Pop-Up Gallery. Liggett has chosen works that express the duality of her professional and her artistic work for this show.
“Photography, for me, represents a unique opportunity to capture and make immortal all those fleeting moments that frame our lives,” she said. “It’s creating a physical impression of someone or something that will never again be.”
This exhibit asks the audience to explore the intriguing dynamic between art and commercialism in Liggett’s portfolio.
The exhibition, curated by APSU students Jennifer Oliphant and Gabrielle Bomar, runs through Dec. 7, with a closing reception with the artist from 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 in the Morgan University Center lobby.
